One of the core values promoted by the Knights of Columbus is to protect life. That value received special emphasis Saturday May 8th. Sacred Heart Council #2955 in Dodge City sponsored a Mother Daughter Pro Life Forum at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Open to women in the Diocese, over 100 mothers and daughter participated in sessions designed for high school and junior high ladies. All four corners of the diocese were represented including, Kiowa, Lakin, LaCrosse, Satanta, Dodge City and Garden City. A variety of speakers presented topics such as:

  • Abstinence, self-respect, reasons to save sex till marriage and God has a plan for your life~Elizabeth Schmeidler
  • Chastity, modesty, dating, Theology of the Body~ Dr. Diana Crook
  • Church Teaching.  What can you do to promote a Culture of Life amidst a culture of death?  Reconciliation & New Beginnings~Fr. Ted Skalsky, Fr. Ted Stoeklein

The Knights of Council #2955 are honored to offer this forum and are grateful so many women participated. We also extend our gratitude to Steve and Becky Hessman, Joe and Becky Gleason for all their effort to organize the event.
